As someone who's never even heard of the video game (a factor which seems to polarise reviews) I can say that I enjoyed this series more than I thought I would although some of the episodes were in danger of becoming formulaic. Joel (Pascal) and Ellie (Ramsey) need to travel across an America devastated by a fungus which turns people into infectious 'zombies' or rogue raiders.
